The Widen Word is the student run newspaper of Widen Elementary School.  The group was created in 2003 by Mr. VandeWalle (Music Teacher) and Mr. Bryson (3rd Grade Teacher) as a new and unique way for students to learn more about research and writing.  Soon after the group was started News8Austin ran a story about the group.  Below is the video that ran all day on the news.  You can see a print version of the story at News8Austin.com.
